Is AEW doing the same mistake as WCW by hiring too many WWE rejects

When AEW started in 2019, it had a completely new feel. New talents, fresh faces like Jungle Boy, Darby Allin, MJF, Hangman, etc. A few established WWE guys like Moxley and Jericho were helping out. It was nice when a few former WWE wrestlers debuted in WWE here and there, like Miro, Christian, etc.

It was also great for AEW to hire big major names like CM Punk and Bryan Danielson. But now it seems like AEW is hiring any former WWE wrestler or as we marks say WWE rejects. Flood gates have opened and WWE rejects are flowing into AEW. Overshadowing the AEW originals like Hangman, Sammy, Darby, etc.

Let me go through a list of WWE rejects AEW hired which they could have easily passed.

Hiring the whole Undisputed Era

To be honest I was never a fan of NXT. Especially Adam Cole, not only he is small, he hardly has any muscles. All the boom stuff he does is annoying. Then AEW also hired his other midget friends Bobby Fish and Kyle O Riley.

Samoa Joe

Recently Samoa Joe also signed with AEW. But why? He crawled back to WWE and papa Haitch after being released. Then he got released the second time. Now he went to AEW. But why waste money on a guy who easily gets injured.

William Regal

William Regal was a manager role in NXT. What’s the point of hiring him? It’s just adding another guy to the roaster who won’t be able to wrestle.

Jeff Hardy

Jeff Hardy used to be a big name in WWE. Hardy boy’s stuff used to be good around 20 years ago! Hiring Jeff to reunite the Hardy boys is nothing but doing a blast from the past. This thing won’t last long.

There are many more signings yet to come. I am expecting Cesaro also to sign with AEW. Hopefully AEW keeps it fresh and slows down unnecessary signings of WWE rejects.
